Design software for buildings and infrastructure sits in an awkward place. The heavy work happens in desktop applications that engineers have used for decades, while everything around it has moved to the cloud. Getting those two worlds to talk to each other properly is an engineering problem in its own right, and it's the first thing this engagement dealt with. Cloud automation between platform and desktop. Automating the flow between desktop and cloud without corrupting model integrity is the hard part, and it's why this work tends to need people who understand the file formats rather than generalists.
